Stephen
Boyd, BS, MD, PhD, FRSM
 Dr.
Stephen Boyd serves as Medical Director and Administrator
of Mannatech Inc, Medical Research Department with responsibility
for the medical research program and liaison with the
health professions. Dr. Boyd completed his B.S. and Ph.D.
degrees in Chemistry at the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
In 1974 Dr. Boyd graduated with an M.D. degree from the
University of Toronto, followed by training in Family
Practice.
Dr. Boyd has spent fifteen years in medical practice as
a Family Physician, both in Canada and the U.S. Dr. Boyd's
interest in medicine and research resulted in his recruitment
in Canada as Medical Director of Ortho Pharmaceuticals,
a Johnson and Johnson Company. Since 1992 he has been
involved in the research and development of naturally
occurring compounds as therapeutics and nutritional supplements.
During this time he has extensively studied the biology
and pharmacology of carbohydrates and glyconutrients.
In April 2001, at the general meeting of the Society in
London, England, Dr. Boyd was honored by being elected
a Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine. |
